Program Support Assistant, TRiO Student Support Services
The TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) Program at Medaille College seeks a results-oriented professional for the position of Program Support Assistant to join our team. TRiO SSS is a federally-funded grant program established to increase successful college navigation and graduation of low-income, first-generation college students and students with disabilities. This is a 12-month, full time (40 hours per week) position. Under the direction of the Director, the Program Support Assistant works collaboratively with and supports the Director and the SSS staff in meeting the program goals of increasing the persistence, grade point averages, and graduation rates of student participants by performing multiple administrative and clerical functions to include assisting with workshop and event planning, participating in cultural enrichment activities, and providing outstanding customer service to student participants and staff.
The successful candidate will demonstrate being a self-directed worker able to perform multiple responsibilities simultaneously and have three or more years of administrative, clerical and database management experience with impeccable recordkeeping and organizational skills; efficient with Microsoft Office, Banner, and other academic programs; possesses excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills, and understands the importance of maintaining a welcoming and student-centered environment. Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience with culturally-diverse staff members and students in higher education or similar background of program participants preferred.
