Assistant Professor of the Practice, Social Sciences Department
The Department of Social Sciences at Medaille College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of the Practice. This position is scheduled to begin in August 2019. To be considered, applicants must hold must have a minimum of a Master’s Degree or Doctorate in the field of Social Sciences.
Main responsibilities will include teaching a 4/4 load in the fall and spring semesters primarily in our experiential learning/internship courses which are an integral part of our psychology and criminal justice programs. Serve as academic advisor/mentor to students, collaboratively designing a site-specific learning agreement containing measurable performance objectives to focus, direct, and deepen their learning from field experience. Participate in curriculum/program development. Faculty members are expected to attend all faculty assemblies and meetings, as well as serve on college committees which contribute to the academic mission.
